Robert N. Chan

robert n chanRobert N. Chanwas born on June 26, 1948 on the Upper Westside of Manhattan.  The same neighborhood where he lives now with his wife, Amy, and eight year old son, Adam.

He graduated from the University of Michigan with honors in 1970 and Columbia Law School in 1973. He founded the New York City boutique law firm of Ferber Chan Essner & Coller, LLP.  He has litigated for more than 30 years with appalling success. In his practice, he observed the ambience, cynicism and hard-edged humor of the New York legal elite which permeates his writing.

Lying_in_Wait-lgHe has published six prior novels:  Apparitions, Axe of God, Science Fiction, Bad Memory, Painting a Burning House and To Gain the Whole World.

He has tried numerous jury and non-jury cases and is an accomplished and practiced public speaker. He has written on legal issues and appeared often on local and national television news, including News Night with Aaron Brown on CNN.  He has also been featured as a legal expert on the nationally broadcast NBC show Celebrity Justice and been a guest on various radio shows to discuss legal and literary issues including the nationally syndicated Joe Mazza Show, The Rick Barber Show on KOA Denver Colorado, The Jordon Rich Show on WBZ Boston Massachusetts and The Morning Show on WHN Springfield, Massachusetts.
